About

First Club Wars in 2019
Michelle regularly played in 3 different locations: Athens, Sugar Hill and the Easley, South Carolina area. She thought it would be fun to get all her groups together for a day of competitive pickleball. Each location brought 4 doubles teams for a total of 24 players. The format was a simple round robin and the club with the most points at the end won. All games were timed to keep everyone playing throughout the event. It was a hot July day! But everyone competed hard and had a ton of fun. Athens won the first Club Wars but Kim and her partner Henry Ling scored the most points overall!

Michelle did not play and instead took pictures which she posted on Facebook. Immediately she was contacted by another club asking why they were not invited to participate! So she excitedly started planning the next event.

Michelle knew that in order to grow Club Wars she would need help! Kim came to the rescue and has been instrumental in taking Club Wars from 1 division with only 24 players all the way to 5 divisions and over 400 players per event!

Both Kim and Michelle are excited about continuing to grow Club Wars in the Atlanta area - making each event better than the last as well as bringing it to other areas across the country!

Once I was introduced to this crazy sport called Pickleball I quickly became obsessed with the game! Pickleball has helped to improve my overall fitness level, introduced me to so many great people from all over, given me a fun, healthy and competitive outlet and has taught me a ton about myself! I play, drill and/or teach pickleball nearly every day as well as run competitive challenges in Athens. I LOVE introducing people to this amazing and fun sport and I love being a part of CLUBWARS!

In 2016, I was introduced to a sport with a funny name - PICKLEBALL. What started as a fun, addictive recreational hobby, has grown into a passion, which has impacted and become a huge part of my life. It has allowed me to foster meaningful relationships and experiences, which is why I am passionate about growing and introducing others to it. I hope Club Wars will continue to be a big part of our local pickleball community and to grow its impact to other areas. Look forward to seeing everyone on the courts.
